Shooto Brasil 138: Mateo Pereira wins by knockout and asks for belt dispute — Jiu-Jitsu Federation, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation

Jiu-Jitsu Federation: Shooto Brazil 138 ended with a new contender for the lightweight belt. In the main fight of the edition held last Friday (17) at the Upper Arena, in Rio de Janeiro, the Uruguayan Mateo Pereira defeated the Brazilian Welington “Predator” Souza by technical knockout in the third round and, still in the cage, asked for the opportunity to compete for the lightweight title of the organization.

Born in Montevideo and based in Brazil, Mateo controlled the confrontation against the Brazilian from the first minutes and confirmed the triumph with a technical knockout in the third round of the dispute. After the duel, he stated that he hopes to be the next challenger to the category belt.

Still on the main card, Yan Teixeira got the better of David Ruan. After about four years away from MMA, the athlete needed less than a round to end the opponent with an unappealable triangle that forced the victim to give all three pats so as not to erase.
